Is my phone eSIM-compatible?
Your device needs two things: eSIM hardware, and a carrier-unlocked status. A phone bought on a locked contract may not accept a second, non-carrier eSIM even if the hardware supports it — check with your carrier if you're unsure.
Quick check on your phone
- • iPhone: Settings → General → About — look for an "EID" entry.
- • Android: Settings → Network & internet (or Connections) — look for an "Add eSIM" or "Add mobile plan" option.
If either option is missing, your device doesn't support eSIM.

Most travel eSIM plans are data-only — no phone number, calls, or SMS unless a plan says otherwise. Whether a specific plan supports hotspot sharing, calls, or SMS depends on the underlying network; check the "Details" section on each plan's page. A capability we have not had confirmed is left out entirely rather than guessed at.
